Hi friends! Welcome to my Noonday Collection Sample Sale!
Spring is nearly upon us, and Noonday Collection has already launched their new (and most exciting) collection yet! Trends to spot for this season are: bright bold colors like lemon yellow and cobalt blue, fringe, and the neon trend continues... check out the new collection here!

Winter Sunset Scarf...$35!

I love this infinity scarf... it's mostly green, but seems to go with everything somehow, with blue and pink and even some yellow woven through it. Throw it on with all your favorites, you'll love it, too!

Pelotas Bracelet... $9!

-->
Made of acai seeds sustainably harvested in the Andean region of Ecuador. Noonday Collection, in partnership with the Andean Collection,offers artisans the opportunity to participate in the global market while inspiring you with access to the elusive world of the rural Andes. (Makes my little Spanish-teacher heart go pitter-pat)
Through a manual, low energy process, acai seeds are dyed and transformed into fashion forward pieces that tell a story of sustainability. This bracelet is spot on with the “arm party” trend of layering several fun bracelets, and this rose color helps it to blend softly with many other colors, and the bright orange bead brings it all together to remind me of a good sunset. Add it to your collection today!

Banded Triangles Belt...$43!

-->
Hand-embroidered wool from Peru.
I love the geometric pattern and color-combo of this belt. (Size medium). It goes with so many things, and really adds a fun pop of color to jeans or my favorite dress!
Making these belts enables many of the artisans to earn fair trade wage while working at home while their sweet kiddos play nearby… Love thinking of them when I strap this belt on!

Draped Chain Earrings...$20!

-->
Brass, made in India.
In the past, I was not a “gold girl.” I didn’t wear it. Ever. Enter these earrings and how fabulous they look with my favorite scarves, like the Winter Sunset  or the Angelica scarf, (pictured above) and I wear gold all the time. Because the necklace needs to match, of course ;)
These are actually brass, so they oxidize a little bit, but I love the antiqued look it gives them, so I just wear them that way. If you don’t, just dip them in some jewelry cleaner every once in a while!
I hope you love these as much as I do!

Stone Dangles Earrings...$22!

-->
Brass, made in India.
Silver or Gold? Why not both, with a little turquoise as well?  These delicate earrings have been my favorites of the season, and I’m sure they would quickly be your favorites,too!
As if you needed another reason to love them, let me add a little Noonday story with this: There are 20 to 65 million bonded laborers in India, despite substantive and clear laws prohibiting this. A person becomes a bonded laborer when their labor is demanded as a means of repayment for a loan.The person is then tricked or trapped into working for very little or no pay,often for seven days a week, like modern-day slavery. Noonday Collection partners with many different jewelry-making groups in India whose goal is to build long-term equitable trading relationships that ensure low-income artisans are truly being helped out of poverty and will not become a bonded laborer. Artisans are paid a livable wage and have safe working conditions,access to health and childcare, and on-going training and education.
How’s that for making a difference one purchase at a time?

Waterfall Necklace...$29!

-->
Handcrafted in Uganda, from paper beads, with a brass chain.This is a long necklace that drapes beautifully over any favorite blouse or dress.  I love the colors combined here: soft grey, mustard yellow, and bright turquoise. My favorite feature is the grey bead that goes through the loop to fasten the necklace. Such a nice ladylike touch in the back!

Twisted Necklace...$29!

-->
I find that I wear a lot of neutrals to work (mainly because they are easy to match).  This necklace has been a great addition, to make an otherwise boring grey dress more special.Great accessories save the day again! I love the beautiful combination of soft lavender (big color this spring!), buttery yellow, and the grey paper beads have a light shimmer to them, like a pretty eyeshadow. It’s definitely a spring favorite for me, and would be a great way to make a dress you already have into a special Easter outfit, with a great story behind it. This necklace is handmade by artisans in Uganda of paper beads and tiny clear beads to give it extra sparkle!

Zoe Necklace...$29!

-->
Handcrafted paper beads from Uganda.
Paper beads are created by rolling various lengths andcolors of paper strips around a tiny toothpick. The beads are then varnished several times before they become the fashionable necklaces, earrings, and bracelets we have come to love.
Paper beads are a great way to accessorize some the global fashion trends we are seeing this season, and when you pick a Noonday Collection piece like this one, your purchase has the power to lift artisans like Bukenya and Coral up and out of poverty and give them beautiful opportunities they might not have had otherwise: a home, furniture, a wedding, and prenatal care. All because they learned to roll beads out of strips of paper. What a beautiful story.

Exploration Necklace...$29!

-->
Looking for something green for St. Patrick's Day this weekend?
Emerald green (my favorite popular color this season!), and cream-colored paper beads strung together with earthy wooden beads, and tiny glimmering bronze beads. Made in Uganda, by African Style, the company that helped launch Noonday Collection.

Beza Charm Necklace...$50!

-->
Beza Charm Necklace…$50!
A favorite necklace, I've never seen anything quite like it – so sad to see it go!
The comfy leather straps are the perfect color between gold and silver, so it pretty much goes with everything!
This necklace, like the Danica Necklace is made by the women of Entoto Mountain, from upcycled metal and artillery shells.  In the mountains of Northern Ethiopia, farmers supply local bead makers with artillery shells discovered on their lands following former war conflicts. The village artisans melt down these shells using ancient techniques to create these beads. The final handcrafted beads are sent to the women of Entoto Mountain, who create the jewelry you now wear, like this Beza Charm Necklace!
Remnants of former weapons of conflict are now upcycled pieces of redemption…now that’s a good Noonday story!

Fusion Bracelet...$50!

-->
When I first joined up with Noonday, this bracelet was my first big splurge and I was SO EXCITED to get my hands on it. I love the color,that it’s tone actually makes me appear tanner than I really am, I love the snaps that fasten it together, and I love how heavy and cool it is against my skin when I wear it. All the tiny beads are made from upcycled metal and artillery by artisans in Ethiopia (See more details here on the entries for similar pieces like the Danica Necklace or Beza Charm Necklace).
I would call this bracelet my “gateway piece” for Noonday Collection.  It was my favorite to wear(for all the obvious reasons) and I found myself sharing the story over and over when I was out and about town. This bracelet is sure to be a favorite for you as it has been for me, and I am sure you will be just as excited to share it’s story as I have been!
