Who needed those extra cuddles more tonight? Me or Hannah? Hard to say.

Whoopsy daisy!
So it seems that the cool blogger app I've been using on my phone posts pictures sideways... sorry about that!

Embrace the camera: January 5
Is it really 2012?
We are back in the swing of things, and I find myself a bit nostalgic for the holiday break today. So I was peeking back through the pictures and found this sweet one from Thanksgiving. (Not sure it's obvious that she is wearing paper headdress and vest)
"Over the river and through the woods, to grandmother's house we go" rings a bit true every time we take the scenic route to Meema and Pa's house. Hannah loves to check out the ducks and turtles in our neighborhood pond/stream, and I love that my parents live within walking distance. All the sweetness of that is captured in this photo: preschool project costume. Child in wagon full of thanksgiving goodies pulled by handsome hubby. Walking over to hang out with the fam for the day. Seriously, this is the sweet life!
Repeat for Christmas.
So good!

Cooking dinner is one of my favorite parts of the day... I make myself a nice cup of tea, and chop and simmer, and stir to my heart's content. Pretty much
Sometimes it's more chaotic I'd someone's needy at that point, but either way, I still LOVE making dinner and relish the time to watch everything come together. I love the way food changes when it cooks. Or like today, when it bakes. Here's Hannah and I making some banana muffins...in some delicious light! It's no wonder this sunny spot is a favorite of mine, huh?

Cranky but sweet
I don't know what triggers it, but somehow I seem to have a pretty cranky girl on my hands.
Maybe she just needed a nap.
Ha.

Things to be thankful for...
This girl. Fun times at her first preschool feast (in full native american garb, of course). Extra time at home with the family. Children who delight in the little things. Good wotkouts with great friends. Wandering "over the river and through the woods to Mema's house" for Thanksgiving. Hikes with our little family. Time to putter around in the garden. And so many more! Hoping you are feeling blessed this Thanksgiving! Count those blessings, big and small!
